Research Assistant with a Masters's degree in Economics

The Department of Economics at the University of Bonn is inviting applications for a full-time pre-doctoral Research Assistant with a Master’s degree in Economics or another relevant subject area. The successful candidate will assist Prof. Teodora Boneva on a number of studies related to gender inequality and support for public policies. The research assistant will be a member of a research team with responsibility for the provision of research support for different research projects in these areas. We expect to involve the research assistant in different stages of research. Tasks may include scripting surveys in Qualtrics, coordinating large-scale data collections, the analysis of data in STATA, and performing literature reviews. Experience in handling data, and a solid experience in the use of STATA are essential. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, to have strong communication skills, and the ability to work in teams.
The position will be based in Bonn, Germany, where the research assistant will have the opportunity to engage with the large international community of researchers at the Department of Economics at the University of Bonn. Successful applicants are expected to start between June and October 2025.
The position can be held for one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension in exceptional cases, and is ideal for candidates who hold a Master’s degree and are interested in gaining skills with the goal of pursuing a PhD in Economics. Previous research assistants have been successful in securing placements in prestigious PhD in Economics programs.
