Senior Economist

Institut des Politiques Publiques

All departments

The Institut des Politiques Publiques (IPP) is a policy research institute based in Paris, sponsored by the Paris School of Economics (PSE) and the Centre for research in economics and statistics (CREST). The IPP aims at promoting analyses and quantitative evaluations of public policies based on the most recent methods used in economics.

For the different projects conducted by IPP, we hire senior research economists. Our areas of research cover a large number of topics: taxation, environmental and social policies, labour market issues, health and elderly care, education, ageing and pension policies, as well as housing and urban policies. All the projects involve teamwork, and you will have to work closely with other IPP economists and affiliated researchers.

A senior economist position involves working primarily on the policy evaluations IPP is involved in, while also offering an opportunity to develop one’s own research agenda, as the Institute provides access to detailed (and often unique) administrative data, research-oriented colleagues and the research environment of both the Paris School of Economics and CREST.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Economics or related field at the time, or very soon after, employment begins. Oral and writing skills are of paramount importance, along with fluency in both French and English, as our studies are carried out for national and international bodies.

Applications should be submitted via EconJobMarket. We aim to interview shortlisted candidates in January 2025. Subsequent visits to our premises will be arranged in February-March 2025 for a smaller number of candidates.
