2020 World Congress

Call for Expressions of Interest

The next World Congress of the Econometric Society will take place in August 2020 at a location to be decided by the Executive Committee in August 2017. Expressions of interest by potential local organizers are being solicited.

The World Congress is traditionally held mid-late August for 5 days, Monday through Friday, and includes a program of invited and contributed sessions, plenary lectures and social events.

The proposed venue should have a large auditorium for plenary lectures (1,000-1,500 capacity), 3-4 large rooms for parallel invited lectures (250-350 capacity), 30-35 contributed session rooms (30-80 capacity). The expected attendance is 1,500-2,000 people. The host institution is responsible for facilitating accommodations, including inexpensive options for students.
